Quote in dirhams, with the import cost actually in the number
Almost every forklift part in the UAE arrives through Jebel Ali or Khalifa Port before it reaches the customer. Catalyces prices a quotation line by line in AED and calculates landed cost properly — exchange rate on the purchase currency, the 5% GCC common external tariff, clearing agent charges, international freight and local delivery, then your margin on top of the real cost rather than the invoice cost. Most maintenance software treats import charges as a single afterthought line at the bottom of the quote, which is how service companies quietly lose margin on imported spares.
VAT at 5%, set per account
The quotation builder carries a configurable tax percentage, so UAE quotes calculate at 5% VAT while the same product configured for another market uses that market's rate. Catalyces is not an e-invoicing system: the UAE moves to a Peppol-based five-corner e-invoicing model with a pilot in July 2026 and a mandate from January 2027, and that obligation sits with your accounting software. Catalyces produces the quotation and the job cost behind it, not the tax invoice.
The only GCC state on a Saturday–Sunday weekend
Since 1 January 2022 the UAE has run a Saturday–Sunday weekend, while Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman remain on Friday–Saturday. If you service sites across the Gulf from a Dubai workshop, your reporting week does not line up with your customers'. Catalyces stamps every work order log, daily machine status and cost entry in the account timezone — Gulf Standard Time, UTC+4 — so downtime and labour reports group against the week your operation actually runs.
Built around AMC work, not around a scheduler
Maintenance in the Gulf is sold as an Annual Maintenance Contract, and most of the software effort goes into executing visits rather than planning them. Catalyces covers the execution end well: raise the job against the specific machine, assign it to a technician or a team, log labour hours, issue parts from stores and take the unused ones back, complete the checklist, and close with a signed service report the site supervisor puts their name to. Client records support parent and sub-client hierarchies, which is how multi-site and free-zone contracts are usually structured.

What Catalyces does not do
Worth knowing before you migrate rather than after.
- No preventive-maintenance scheduling. Catalyces runs the jobs you raise; it will not generate a visit plan from a service interval, so AMC scheduling still lives in your calendar.
- The interface is English only. There is no Arabic UI and no right-to-left layout.
- No invoicing. Catalyces produces quotations, purchase orders and job costs, which you export to your accounting system.
- No native mobile app and no offline mode — it runs in the phone browser and needs a connection.
